Guide to all Ideal Gas Regular Boiler Models

ideal regular

This guide aims to teach you all you need to know about all Ideal Regular Gas boilers on the market. We will be discussing each boiler model’s specifications, features, and giving a quick review on the Ideal boilers discussed.

If you’re looking for a guide on Ideal Gas Combi boilers or Ideal Gas System boilers, we’ve got them covered too.

Ideal Regular Gas boilers are ‘ideal’ (excuse the pun) for homes with limited space. They will need a hot water cylinder and a cold water storage tank. (Don’t worry, these are normally tucked out of the way so you won’t see them).

So how does a regular (heat only) boiler work?

Regular and System boilers are similar in the way that they both have a hot water cylinder that they rely on. However, a regular boiler also needs a large tank for cold water storage. As mentioned, this is normally kept hidden in your attic, so you don’t have to worry about making room for it. The tank will be supplied with cold water from the mains, and feed down to the boiler. The reason why the tank is located in the attic is to increase the pressure of the water in the system, and then let gravity do its thing.

Once the boiler ignites, the heat exchanger then heats up the water. The water then gets pumped into a hot water storage cylinder and kept there until you need it for a warm shower after a long winter walk. This is why a lot of people choose a regular conventional gas boiler because hot water is ready on demand. Ideal Regular boilers are very reliable and efficient, which is why they are approved by the Energy Saving Trust.

Founded in 1905, Ideal brings a wealth of experience to the boiler and heating industry. Some of their most popular models include the Ideal Logic+ and Logic Max ranges.

With over 3.5k Ideal boiler reviews on Trustpilot with an average trust score of 4.6 out of 5, it becomes clear how reliable and efficient Ideal boilers are and what their customers feel about them.

Ideal describe themselves as the ‘forefront’ of the domestic and commercial heating market. They have also said that they are “leading the industry in setting new standards and challenging technological boundaries”.

They have also said,

“Our company remains true to its founding principles of quality, innovation, and value – building on its rich heritage as we look to the future.”

No description of Ideal boilers would be complete without mentioning their plucky mascot, the imaginatively named ‘Boilerman’. Starting off as a bit of a laugh, people have taken quite a shine to the comedy mascot, he even has his own Twitter handle now – @IdealBoilerMan. He can also be found on matchdays, running up and down the touchline of West Bromwich Albion, cheering on the ‘baggies’.

Now you know a little bit more about the background of Ideal Regular boilers, let’s talk about the products they deliver (do you feel like a professional yet?)

Ideal Logic Heat

The Ideal Logic Heat boiler is perfect for homes with more than one bathroom, with output levels from as little as 12kW to as powerful as 30kW available. The benefit of having a regular gas boiler is that you are guaranteed hot water whenever you need it.

Regular or, Conventional boilers as they are also known, are not the best option for those with limited space in their home. This is because they need a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank. However, Ideal has kept the needs of customers in mind by having a range of flue options which increases the flexibility of finding the best location in your home for your new boiler.

Unfortunately, most boilers are never going to look sleek and pretty, but the Ideal Logic Heat is fitted with a large back-lit LCD digital display and easy-to-use controls for maximum comfort in your home.

For extra peace of mind, the Ideal Logic Heat has a two-year warranty. Other benefits of the Ideal Logic Heat include:

  • Made in the UK
  • Compact
  • Easy access to the pressure gauge
  • User-friendly controls
  • Large LCD display screen
  • Range of flue options
  • Range of output levels
