Guide to all Worcester Bosch Gas Regular Boiler Models

wb-regular-main

In this guide, we will be giving you an explanation of ALL Worcester Bosch regular gas boilers. By regular, we don’t mean, average run-of-the-mill boilers, we mean the boilers that are also known as heat only, conventional or traditional boilers.

Regular boilers are older boiler types than combi or system units and they are less efficient. They only produce hot water for a central heating system, but not for taps, baths, or showers.

A regular boiler is fed cold water from a large tank of water which is stored in the attic and also requires a hot water storage cylinder to be able to provide hot water for daily use. A combi boiler by comparison doesn’t require additional tanks and heats your home directly from the mains water supply.

If you’re looking for a guide to Worcester Bosch Gas System Boilers or Worcester Bosch Combi Gas Boilers, we’ve created a guide for those too.

If you aren’t sure what type of boiler you currently have then we’ve got you covered on that front too. You’re welcome 😊

We will include all the key specifications on each Worcester Bosch regular boiler covered in this article, so you get an understanding of each boiler’s performance.

Worcester Bosch is a boiler brand that has become synonymous with reliability and performance, a brand regularly recognised by Which? Awards. In the 2020 Boiler Brands report carried out by Which? Worcester Bosch scored brilliantly once again, being awarded Which? Best Buys across its entire Greenstar gas and oil boiler ranges. Worcester Bosch performed exceptionally for reliability and customer satisfaction.

Worcester has built an enviable reputation for customer aftercare, which is reflected in their 4.6/5 average boiler review score on Trustpilot. Customers are obviously happy with the product and the customer care they receive.

A telling quote from the company’s founder Mr. Robert Bosch (1861-1942), still informs how the company operates today:

“I have always acted according to the principle that I would rather lose money than trust. The integrity of my promises, the belief in the value of my products and in my given word have always had higher priority to me than a transitory profit.”

How many companies in modern society can say they hold themselves to the same principles Mr. Bosch did?

It wasn’t until 1992 that the Bosch Group joined forces with Worcester to become Worcester Bosch. Not many companies have such a rich history as that of the Bosch Group & Worcester.

Now that we know a bit about the background of Worcester Bosch, let’s dive in and see what their regular boilers deliver. You can click on a boiler model below to go straight to that particular boiler or browse at your leisure.

If you’re looking for a stylish, boiler with a range of kW sizes then the Worcester Life is the way to go. Unlike the combi and system boilers on offer from Worcester Bosch, the regular boilers offering doesn’t include a Style model – the fancier older brother to the Life model.

It comes with quiet running technology, so if your boiler is in an area where you socialise, the Life boiler will fit in nicely. Speaking of fitting in, it also occupies the same amount of space as a kitchen cupboard, so if your boiler is located in the kitchen – the Life gives you an aesthetically pleasing option.

Worcester Bosch Greenstar Ri regular boiler

The Greenstar Ri range is a compact, wall-mounted boiler with a range of kW sizes to suit all-size homes. The Ri range is the most popular regular boiler range that Worcester Bosch produces.

Small enough to be installed in a standard kitchen cupboard, the Ri range is a compact, powerful and reliable regular boiler choice. In fact, the Ri is even smaller than the CDi Compact, a boiler designed to be small! But don’t be fooled by its size, the Ri still has punch.

  • Fits in a standard kitchen cupboard
  • Simple boiler control knob
  • Suitable for homes where the heating system includes a hot water storage cylinder
  • Frost protection is also included, reducing frost risk if installed in a garage or loft
  • Can be used with solar panels for energy and cost savings

If you currently own a regular boiler and you’re thinking about getting a new boiler, we would recommend switching to a combi boiler.

When purchasing with WarmZilla, we would remove the cold water tank in the attic, and the hot water storage tank, take out the regular boiler and swap it for a combi boiler. Conversions take a little longer and they are a bit more expensive but you will be saving space and you would have a simpler system installed, with fewer parts to go wrong!

  • Stored hot water can be rapidly replenished with high output options

These boilers have been designed with a flexible flue allowing for chimney installation, multi-directional flue providing increased siting possibilities due to a built-in condensate pump and a roll-in feature, which minimises the risk of flooring damage.
