Ideal Boiler Error Codes / Fault Codes List

Ideal boiler image

In an ‘Ideal’ world (see what we did there?), our boilers would never break down and we would never see a fault code. Unfortunately, it’s not an Ideal world and although Ideal is a reliable boiler brand, you will occasionally experience an error code being displayed.

If your boiler experiences a fault, it will ‘lockout’ to prevent further damage being caused to the boiler and display an error code to help you or a Gas Safe engineer identify the issue and fix it before you reset your boiler.

Below we have listed the main Ideal boilers in domestic use so that you can find your model, find your fault code and then see what the issue is and how it can be fixed. This guide is meant for informational purposes only, you should never attempt to fix an issue within your boiler if you aren’t a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Below we have also included a guide on how to reset your Ideal boiler, resetting your boiler is known to fix 80% of all issues. If the problem persists, then you will need to call out a Gas Safe engineer.

Ideal Isar / Icos combi boiler error codes

The Ideal Isar / Icos was created for a government scheme to ensure vulnerable families were provided government subsidised boilers. The Isar needed to be mass-produced and available at a low price.

Unfortunately, the low price was achieved at a cost and the Ideal Isar proved to be an unreliable and temperamental boiler.

If you are experiencing issues with your Ideal Isar then we wouldn’t recommend putting much money into it to get it fixed given the age and unreliability of the boiler.

We would recommend getting a fixed price quote on a new boiler from WarmZilla. Boiler finance is available with a £0 deposit and finance for people with bad credit history is available.
