Intergas Boiler Error Codes / Fault Codes

Intergas-Main

What are the Intergas boiler’s fault codes? We cover the Intergas Xtreme, Xclusive, Eco RF, HRE, Rapid, Rapid Plus, HRE OV & HRE SB.

Intergas Heating is a Dutch boiler manufacturer with 50 years of experience in what they refer to as ‘making ground-breaking advances in boiler technology’.

Intergas boilers’ intelligent design means there is no need for a diverter valve, valve motor, secondary hot water plate heat exchanger, or auto air vent. With fewer parts, there’s less to go wrong. So you would think, eh!

Intergas Heating states that its aim has always been to increase efficiency and reliability while lowering emissions and energy bills for their customers and that they’ve been successful in doing so thanks to their revolutionary two-in-one heat exchanger launched in 1996. However, we’re pretty sure you’re not going to be nodding your head in agreement with this statement at the moment, considering you’re here because your apparently amazing boiler has decided it’s on strike for the foreseeable.

But stress no more, by the end of this blog, you will be able to identify any issues that you may be experiencing with your current boiler so that you can inform your Gas Safe Engineer of the issue and they can resolve this for you.

On the other hand, you might already be at the point where you’re tired of having to fork out a load of money on your boiler and think it might be easier to get a new one. In some cases, it may be more cost-efficient to get a boiler replacement.

If you are looking for a quick boiler quote, WarmZilla can take you through a simple survey to help you find the best new boiler suitable for your home.

There are a few things you should consider when purchasing a new or replacement boiler. These factors include size, efficiency, kW output power, and cost. Unsure what kW output means or what kW output is best suited for your home?  We’ve got you covered, here are some blogs that could help.

Another sneaky self-promo coming your way… If you would like some help choosing the perfect boiler for you, here are a few blogs that may help:

With 8 different boiler models to choose from with warranties between 3 and 10 years and a load of features, Intergas Heating has a lot to offer their customers. These models include the Intergas Xtreme, Xclusive, Eco RF, HRE, Rapid, Rapid Plus, HRE OV, and HRE SB ranges.

Their HRE boiler range and the Eco RF range are endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust.

Now, let’s look at what their customers really have to say about their Intergas boiler.

During the 2020 Which? Best Buy Survey, Intergas Heating were awarded an overall 52% brand score. Take a look at the Which? survey results:

Overall Score52%
Reliability3 stars
Customer Score3 stars
Engineer recommendation3 stars
Ease of fixing a common fault4 stars
Ease of servicing 3 stars
Availability of spares and parts 2 stars
Build quality3 stars

We can see from these scores that although Intergas boilers may not be the most loved boiler brand, they are consistent across the board, and customers are generally happy with their overall performance.

We also took a look at Intergas on Trustpilot. They have been given 4.6 stars out of 5 and have over 500 reviews, which supports the fact that Intergas customers are satisfied with their boilers. Here’s what a few of their customers had to say:

“We are very pleased with our Xclusive boiler. It is quiet and runs efficiently. The service engineer was excellent and professional.”

“1st class service, very good rates. No complaints.”

“The best boiler on the market”

Despite having some great reviews and ratings, I guess you’re still reading this hoping to identify your boiler’s issues. Below we have attached all the Intergas boiler errors and fault codes to help you find the issue.

Intergas Xtreme and Xclusive boiler error codes

Fault CodeSystem BehaviourPossible solution / cause
F000Sensor defectHeat exchanger sensor needs replacing.
F001

Temperature too high during central heating demand

Air could be in system, central heating system needs bleeding. There could be an error with the pump & it could need replacing.
F002

Temperature too high during domestic hot water (DHW) demand

The wiring of DHW sensor needs checking, possible breakage.
F003Flue gas temperature too highHeat exchanger needs checking for contamination.
F004No flame during startupGas valve is closed. Condensation drain is blocked and ignition needs checking.
F005Flame disappears during operationCondensation drain could be blocked, the air supply duct and flue needs checking for possible recirculation or blockage of flue gases.
F006

Flame simulation error

Gas valve could need replacing or burner controller could need replacing.
F007No or insufficient ionisation flowWiring of ionisation/ignition pin could have a breakage shut down and could need replacing.
F008Fan speed incorrectFan cable needs checking, fan or burner controller could need replacing.
F009

Bunner controller has internal fault

Burner controller needs replacing.
F010, F011Sensor faultPossible issue with heat exchanger sensor, breakage or not connected properly.
F012Sensor 5 faultWiring for flue gas sensor needs checking, possible breakage.
F014

Mounting fault sensor

Heat exchanger sensor is not mounted correctly and needs to be mounted properly.
F015

Mounting fault sensor S1

Central heating flow sensor is not mounted correctly and needs mounting properly.
F016Mounting fault S3

Domestic hot water sensor is not mounted correctly and needs mounting properly.

F018

Flue and/or air supply duct is blocked

The flue and/or air supply duct could need cleaning.
F019BMM errorCheck the BMM wiring for breakages / BMM wiring could need replacing.
F027Short circuit of outdoor sensorOutdoor sensor could have a wiring issue, check and replace the outdoor sensor.
F028Reset errorThe reset button needs checking for unintentional operation e.g. cleaning of control panel. Burner controller might need replacing.
F029Gas valve error

Gas valve needs checking for leakage/burner controller could need replacing.

F030Sensor S3 fault

Check wiring of domestic hot water sensor for breakage or shutdown domestic hot water sensor – it could need replacing.

F031Sensor fault S1Check wiring of central heating flow sensor for breakage and shutdown. Check that weather central heating flow sensor is connected correctly.
