Baxi Boilers

Baxi boilers are solid mid-range boilers in a similar bracket to Ideal boilers. Both Baxi and Ideal are well thought of by the heating engineers that install them and both brands are considered quite reliable.

At WarmZilla we believe that Ideal has the edge over Baxi boilers as Ideal boilers are slightly cheaper and with WarmZilla your Ideal boiler comes with a massive 8-year guarantee. Baxi boilers come with a standard manufacturer’s warranty of 7 years on their standard boilers models, increasing to 10 years on the premium models.

Baxi offers a range of combi, system, and regular boilers. If you aren’t sure what boiler type you have, check out our blog, it’s important to know your boiler type before getting any boiler quotes.

Once you know what boiler type you’re looking for, you can use the WarmZilla boiler comparison function below. Just select up to 3 boilers you want to compare and you’ll be able to compare key stats side by side to see which Baxi (or another boiler brand) boiler is best for you.

You can also take the WarmZilla survey, by answering a few simple questions about your home we will be able to recommend suitable boilers for your heating and hot water requirements. You can get a quote on a new boiler in just a few minutes without adding any personal details.

WarmZilla does not currently offer Baxi boilers, instead, we offer Ideal boilers which we feel occupy the same space in the boiler market but at more reasonable prices and with better aftercare.

Baxi boiler prices vary depending on the model you choose and the kW output of the model you require. The Baxi EcoBlue Advance combi boiler will cost you around £1,000 just for the boiler alone without installation and all the extras you get with a WarmZilla boiler.

Boilers sold by WarmZilla come with Gas Safe installation, system filter, system cleanse, inhibitor, wireless thermostat, up to 12 years guarantee, any flues or extension kits you may need; plus, if your condensate or gas pipes require upgrading – that’s included in your fixed price boiler quote too!

It is important to ensure that your Baxi boiler is regularly serviced to keep yourself and others around you safe.

All appliances that burn wood or fossil fuels (such as natural gas) can produce poisonous Carbon Monoxide if they are not working properly, so it is important to keep your boiler in good condition to avoid any risks.

Having your boiler annually serviced also keeps your boiler warranty valid. Baxi warranty requires your boiler to be annually serviced by a Gas Safe Engineer. Failure to do so could not only invalidate your warranty but also lead to expensive repair bills on your boiler.

What will your Gas Safe Engineer will check during your boiler service?

  • That your boiler has the correct gas pressure and flow.
  • The flue and combustion. A flue gas analyser will be used to make sure the boiler is burning the right mixture of gas and air that your boiler flue is not blocked.
  • Your electrical connections are clean and in good condition.
  • That your fans and other key components are working efficiently.
  • That your boiler seals are intact.
  • Your electrodes are in good condition.
  • That all safety devices are checked.
  • That your condensate pipe and trap are not blocked.
  • That your water and gas pipework is in working order.

Your Gas Safe Engineer should also inform you that if your boiler does not meet building and safety legislation and regulations during their checks.

As a guide, a boiler service should take at least half an hour and you should receive a full service report once your boiler service is complete.

The Baxi 412 heat only is a highly efficient regular boiler that performs to efficiencies of 93% and has been awarded an ErP A-rating for heat. These ratings mean that this regular boiler could potentially help you to reduce not only your carbon footprint but also your energy bills.

As mentioned, the Baxi 412 is the least powerful of its range, however, is powerful enough to heat a home with up to 10 radiators and a bathroom. If your home requires a higher demand for both heating and hot water, then Baxi has designed the Baxi 415, 418, 424, and the Baxi 430 which may be more suitable for your home.

It is important to note that a regular boiler is not recommended for homes with limited space. This is because a regular boiler will need an additional hot water storage tank, which is typically located in an airing cupboard, as well as a cold water cistern and a feed, which are normally installed in the attic of your home.

However, if space is not an issue in your home and you have a high demand for hot water and central heating, a regular boiler could be the perfect choice for you.

The Baxi 415 heat only is one of the least powerful regular gas boilers in the 400 range, with an output of 15kW. However, this regular boiler is still powerful enough to heat a home with up to 10 radiators and a bathroom. If your home has a higher demand for both heating and hot water, then Baxi has designed the 418, 424, and the Baxi 430, which may be better suited to your home.

The boiler’s high energy ratings mean that this regular boiler could potentially help you to reduce not only your carbon footprint but also your energy bills.

It is important to note that a regular boiler is not recommended for smaller homes with limited space. This is because, with a regular boiler, you will need to have room for an additional hot water storage tank which is typically located in an airing cupboard. You will also need a cold water cistern and a feed, which are installed in the attic of your home. However, if space is not an issue in your home, and you have a high demand for hot water and central heating, a regular boiler could be the perfect choice for you.

The Baxi 418 Regular Boiler’s high efficiency rate could potentially help you to reduce not only your carbon footprint but also your energy bills.

With an output of 18kW, this regular boiler can heat a home with up to 15 radiators and a bathroom. For larger homes with a higher demand for both heating and hot water, Baxi has designed the 424 and the Baxi 430. The Baxi 412 and the Baxi 415 are available for homes with lesser demand.

When purchasing a new or replacement regular boiler, it’s important to note that you will need to have the room for an additional hot water storage tank, typically located in an airing cupboard, as well as a cold water cistern and a feed, which are usually installed in the attic. For this reason, regular boilers are not recommended for homes with limited space.

However, if space is not an issue in your home and your home requires a high demand for instant hot water, a regular boiler could be the perfect choice for you.

The Baxi 424 combi boiler has a high-efficiency rating of 93% and an ErP A-rating for both heating and hot water, meaning that this combi boiler has the ability to help you to save money on your energy bills, and also help reduce your carbon footprint.

Combi boilers are ideal for properties where space is limited as they remove any need for additional hot water or cold water storage tanks that you would typically need with a regular or system boiler. Thanks to their compact and lightweight design, this means that they can be installed neatly into the space of a standard kitchen cupboard.

There are 2 combi boilers in the Baxi 400 range, the 424 model and the 428. This combi boiler, the 424 model has an output of 21.8kW for central heating and an output of 24kW for hot water. The difference between these combi boilers is that the 428 has a more powerful DHW output rating of 28kW.

The Baxi 400’s range has five regular boilers with a range of different outputs between 12kW and 30kW. The Baxi 424 heat only being one of the more powerful boilers in the range, with an output of 24kW for central heating. This regular gas boiler is powerful enough to heat a home with up to 20 radiators and one bathroom.

If your home has a higher demand for both central heating and hot water, Baxi has designed the Baxi 430 regular gas boiler, with an output of 30kW, which is perfect for larger homes. If your home has less than 20 radiators, then the Baxi 412, 415 or 418 may be better suited to your home.

Regular boilers are ideal for families that require instant hot water, however, they are not recommended for smaller homes with limited space. This is because they need an additional hot water storage cylinder, which is typically installed in an airing cupboard of your home. You will also need a feed and expansion tank, which are usually located in the attic of your home.

However, if space is not an issue in your home, the boiler unit itself is compact and lightweight meaning that it can be installed nice and neatly into your standard kitchen cupboard, out of sight, out of mind.

Combi boilers are ideal for properties where space is limited. This is because they combine both the water heater and the central heating into one single unit. Thanks to its compact and lightweight design this combi boiler can be installed neatly into the space of a standard kitchen cupboard. Combi boilers also remove any need for additional hot water or cold water storage tanks that you would typically need with a regular or system boiler, helping you save space in your home.

There are 2 combi boilers in the Baxi 400 range, the 424 and the 428. This combi boiler, the 428 model has the same output of 21.8kW for central heating as the 424 however, has a higher output of 28kW for hot water, making it powerful enough to heat a medium-sized home with up to 15 radiators and a single main bathroom.

The Baxi 430 regular boiler is the most powerful heat-only boiler in its range, with an output of 30kW for central heating. This output is powerful enough to heat a home with up to 20 radiators and up to two bathrooms. Meanwhile, if your home has lesser demand for heating and hot water then the Baxi 412, 415, 418, or 424 with kW outputs between 12kW and 24kW, and may be better suited to your home.

Although regular boilers are ideal for families that require instant hot water, regular boilers are not recommended for smaller homes with limited space. This is because they need an additional hot water storage cylinder and also a feed and expansion tank, usually located in an airing cupboard and the attic of your home.

However, if space is not an issue in your home, the boiler unit itself is compact and lightweight.
