FERROLI BOILERS

Founded in 1955 and headquartered in Verona, Italy – Ferroli operates in 100 countries worldwide.

Ferroli produces a range of domestic and commercial boilers, water heaters and renewable energy products.

Ferroli Boilers

Ferroli have been operating since 1955 but they have only been trading in the UK since the 1980’s. They haven’t really been able to establish themselves as a big player in the UK boiler market, which is dominated by Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, and Ideal.

Ferroli are considered a budget boiler, so you won’t get the long guarantee lengths you would expect with one of the brands mentioned above. This is usually a good indicator of how long the manufacturer expects the boiler to last, long guarantee = reliable boiler.

Ferroli’s Trustpilot profile only has 174 reviews, which is strange for a company that has been operating in the UK for such a long time. Their trust score is 3.9 out of 5, which sounds pretty decent, but some of those reviews are from engineers – who get kickbacks to install Ferroli boilers. Another thing that stands out from the reviews is 24% of them are ‘bad’. This is a very high percentage so there are a lot of unhappy customers out there.

If you’re looking for a budget boiler then there are more reliable options available than Ferroli. Vokera is a decent budget brand. Ideal boilers are very reliable and have excellent customer support for just a little bit over what you would spend on a budget boiler. There is also the Worcester Bosch 2000 range, which is positioned as an entry-level boiler, but it’s still a Worcester Bosch boiler, with the Worcester Bosch customer support team behind it.

Ferroli offer a choice of combi and system boilers in their latest BlueHelix range in a choice of kW outputs that would be suited for anything from small flats to large homes with multiple bathrooms.

If you aren’t sure what boiler type you have, check out our blog, it’s important to know your boiler type before getting any boiler quotes.

Once you know what boiler type you’re looking for, you can use the WarmZilla boiler comparison function below. Just select up to 3 boilers you want to compare and you’ll be able to compare key stats side by side to see which Ferroli (or another boiler brand) is best for you.

You can also take the WarmZilla survey, by answering a few simple questions about your home we will be able to recommend suitable boilers for your heating and hot water requirements. You can get a quote on a new boiler in just a few minutes without adding any personal details.

There are some heating engineers that back Ferroli boilers but they aren’t a brand that WarmZilla would recommend. You can get more reliable boilers, with longer guarantees for the same kind of money you would pay for a Ferroli boiler.

WarmZilla does not sell Ferroli boilers. WarmZilla offers Vokera as a direct budget comparison, which are generally more reliable than Ferroli boilers. Ideal boilers are also available for a little bit more money but come with a massive 8-year guarantee. You can also pick up a Worcester Bosch 2000 with a 5-10 year guarantee at a very reasonable price.

Ferroli boiler prices vary depending on the model you choose and the kW output of the model you require. The Ferroli Bluehelix 34C combi boiler (30kW) costs £750 (without installation) from a plumbing merchant.

From the same plumbing merchant a Worcester Bosch 2000 (30kW) combi boiler costs £840. That’s not a lot more to pay for the added reliability that a Worcester boiler offers.

A WarmZilla boiler comes with the boiler, Gas Safe installation, system filter, system cleanse, inhibitor, wireless thermostat, up to 14 years guarantee, any flues or extension kits you may need; plus, if your condensate or gas pipes require upgrading – that’s included in your fixed price boiler quote too!

You can get a quote now on a new boiler with all the extras mentioned above, in a few minutes using the WarmZilla online survey.

A well maintained Ferroli boiler could keep your home warm for as long as 10-15 years. Getting your boiler annually serviced will not only increase your boiler’s lifespan but will also ensure that your boiler warranty remains valid.

Here is a brief summary of what a boiler service includes:

-First off, your Gas Safe engineer will visually inspect the boiler to make sure that the pilot light is burning blue, as it should, and not yellow or orange. They will also check for any signs of corrosion or leaking.

-Next, they will remove the outer casing to inspect and clean parts on the inside, such as the heat exchanger.

-Then, it’s a case of making sure that the flue terminals aren’t being obstructed and that the water and gas pipes are all intact.

-The engineer will check that the gas pressure and flow settings are at the correct levels.

-Finally, your Gas Safe engineer will fire up the boiler to check how it is performing. This will help to bring any faults with the boiler components or temperature controls to their attention.

Once your boiler service is completed, your Gas Safe engineer will hand over a boiler service report which highlights all of the tests and checks they performed. If you’re unsure about anything from the service, this is the best time to ask.

A typical Ferroli boiler service usually costs around £60 – £120 but there are many things that can have an impact on the price. This includes:

  • Your locations
  • Your boiler type
  • When your boiler was installed
  • The engineer carrying out the boiler service

It is important that you do not attempt to perform a boiler service yourself. Your boiler service should always be carried out by a registered Gas Safe engineer.
