How does the boiler water treatment work?
To maximise your boiler’s efficiency, you’ll need to look into our water treatment options. Water treatment is a water solution focused on removing unwanted metal particles and debris that builds up and flows through the pipes. These unwanted waste materials can damage your boiler! Various types of treatment are used at different locations to avoid scale, corrosion, or foaming.
Our available water treatment options are; Magnascale, Magnacleanse, Magnetic Filter and EndoTherm, the central heating additives.
Water Treatment
The harder the water, the more minerals it contains and the more likely limescale is to build up. Designed for properties where water hardness is above 200ppm, Adey MagnaScale2 protects individual appliances from damage, so that hard water isn’t a problem.
Adey MagnaScale2 protects individual appliances from immediate limescale and comes with 10-year warranty. It is approved by WRAS (Water Regulations Approval Scheme).
The Magnacleanse is a high-tech cleansing method. This method is well known for its removal of magnetites (debris) and stubborn residue in as little as 20 seconds. However, it’s much more expensive, we’re talking between £300-£600 depending on the number of radiators you have in your home and once installation costs are covered.
Note – unless you notice signs of a blockage in your radiator, such as a cold patch, you don’t need it.
There is a magnetic filter that can be fitted to your pipework, called the Magna Clean. This can be installed on your existing pipework, or you can ask your engineer to install it when getting a new or replacement boiler. This can be fitted to protect you from a buildup of debris, which could result in your heating system becoming inefficient.
A magnetic filter is fitted to the pipework of the heating system or boiler. It is designed to extract unwanted waste materials that flow through the pipes, such as metal particles and other debris.
A magnetic filter is made from a large magnet which attracts these metal particles and filters them out of the central heating system.
A magnetic filter helps prevent blockages and keep the water flowing through your heating system. When getting a boiler installed with WarmZilla, we recommend fitting a magnetic filter at the same time. Magnetic filters reduce your carbon footprint, lower your energy bills, increase the efficiency of your heating system, increase the length of the heating system warranty and improve your boiler’s lifespan.
EndoTherm is a unique multi-award-winning energy-saving additive for wet heating systems – independently proven to save up to 15% on heating costs, improving the overall efficiency, performance, maintenance and life expectancy of heating systems and their assets.
Used by some of the largest property portfolios and facilities management companies in the UK, US and Canada, EndoTherm is dosed at 1% of system volume and works by changing the physical and thermal properties of water to improve the heat transfer efficiency and performance of wet heating systems.
EndoTherm is increasing its product range to offer consumer products. It aims to help with the strain of heating bills, it is easy to install with a Return on Investment (ROI) of 6-12 months. In other words, it pays for itself in less than a year.
